All the pretty things - glass teapots

A lovely friend of mine has recently been posting instagram pics featuring a fabulous tall, ribbed glass teapot she received from a girlfriend familiar with her love of tea and gorgeousness.

I am not ashamed to admit that I covet that pot.

As part of my ongoing efforts to replace bad habits with better ones, I'm trying to minimise my milky sweet tea consumption in favour of refreshing herbal infusions. Obviously, a beautiful pot would help with this. It is practically medicinal!

I've been having a little look around and come up with this short list - I think 1. and 4. are front runners, with 4 maybe sneaking an edge for the pretty ribbed effect.

What do you think? Do you have a favourite?

Do you sip mint tea or are you builders brew all the way...?

All the pretty things - duck egg blue satchel

Bluebag

via www.clothingattesco.com

My newest blog crush skinandblisterblog.com included this little beauty in a recent round up of loveliness and I was instantly smitten. It's a satchel! It's duck egg blue! It's affordable!

I have no need for another bag. I have no need for another bag. I have no need for (yet) another bag...

If I say it enough I might even believe it.

All the pretty things - Node rug

Bear rug

While I was pottering around the interwebs over the weekend I came across (via Apartment Therapy) a lovely Fair Trade company which makes fantastic rugs. Node rugs are hand made from wool hand dyed with beautiful natural pigments in a collective in Nepal. One of the founders is Chris Haughton - children's book illustrator extraordinaire - and the designs are as beautiful and whimsical as one might expect.

The original link was to this brilliant 'Bear' rug by Nadia Shireen. Isn't he beautiful? I think I love him. And at 525euro including shipping for a hand made 183x120cm wool rug, I think he's pretty amazing value.

The best bit, though, is that they offer a 'design your own' service, starting at £250 per square metre. I am powerless in the face of design-your-own anything (as my mountain of as-yet unused Spoonflower fabric will testify) so this made my heart skip a beat. The cogs are already churning and pennies going in a pot for when we finally have A House.

One day...

Before that, though, I will be doing my darndest to get the the Design Museum to see the collection of 10 rugs designed by 10 illustrators that opens on the 5th March. See you there!

What they say:

"Our rug makers, Kumbeshwar are a founder member of Fair Trade Nepal. Employees are taught literacy and skills. In addition to fair wages their work supports a school of 260 children and an orphanage of nineteen."
