This little beauty is the most gorgeous duck-egg blue bowl hand made just for me by the fabulous and talented Emma Litten of Fowey based White Doll Arts. I love it! It is far lovelier than the photo's suggest, but I've given up waiting for non-watery-blue light as I suspect that might be all that's on offer for a little while to come. I love northern light, but it does make things tricky sometimes!
The duck egg blue is possibly my all-time favourite colour; its a toss up with red (particularly sparkly red. And especially shoes!), though as both my engagement ring and wedding dress rocked this shade its got to be a bit special.
The idea was that I would wrap my hands around this bowl and enjoy warming soup in my freezing studio. Now I've got it home, though, I'm sorely tempted to keep it here where I can show it off. And that lip! I love that it has a lip so I can pour from the bowl and
use it to scramble eggs. Or make pancake batter, or salad dressing or
or or...
Thursday was a good post (mail) day with lots of goodies arriving just as I had a whole day at college and a weekend trip starting at the crack of dawn on Friday so no time to photograph, post, or even relish them properly - ain't it always the way? I'll try to be good and spread the etsy love over the next few days, between climbing the mad work mountain that seems to be growing every day!
